Every summer, from June/July through to the harvest, Burgundians celebrate their world renowned terroir through the wonderful medium of music. This “festival season” features a varied programme of concerts, wine tastings, vineyard walks and lectures and is truly a feast for the senses. Varied genres of music cater for every possible preference- but here’s our recommendation of what not to miss!

20th – 26th August Fete de la Vigne, Dijon
With over 70 years of tradition behind it, this is a festival which consumes Dijon. Expect artisinal markets, wine tastings, and cultural spectacles steeped in Dijon trad culture.
7th June – 10th Oct Festival des Grand Crus de Bourgogne
Founded by the pianist Yves Henry in 1986, this festival intrinsically links wine and music. Throughout the summer, 5 cities in Burgundy play host to different events, with the culmination in October of a concert in the Chateau of Clos de Vougeot.
So whatever your musical preferences, if you are in the area (or even if you have to make the journey), get planning and make sure you make it to one of these events. Experience the lighter side of wine before the mayhem of harvest descends all over again!
